Trade license fee in Bangladesh
How to Acquire a Trade License in Bangladesh
Operating a business in Bangladesh requires a formal permit from the pertinent office of the Dhaka City Corporation or Municipality (Union Parishad, Pouroshava, upozilla, or zillaparishad). This authorization is granted as a Trade License. The Dhaka City Corporation Ordinance, 1983 and Municipal Taxation Rules, 1986 provide the legal justification for the requirement to obtain a Trade License in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, conducting business without a trade license is prohibited. To obtain a business license, the entrepreneur must fill out the proper application form and submit it to the applicable authority’s office. For example, Dhaka City Corporation is divided into north and south sections. The applicant must select the appropriate application form based on the location of the business.
The following documents are required to obtain a business license:

- National identification certificate of the business owner
- Recent receipt or proof of ownership
